Nick Freitas

Nick is familiar with many styles of traditional yoga and will teach accessible ways for everyone to experience this enlightening challenge. Raised in Hawaii, Nick Freitas has always believed in the connection between a healthy lifestyle and a happy life. Nick received his black belt in Taekwondo at a very young age from the World Taekwondo Federation in Korea. After graduating from Kamehameha High School in Hawaii, he attended the University of Miami (Coral Gables, Fl.). In Miami, Nick became the first person of Hawaiian Descent to ever play NCAA Division 1 baseball for the University of Miami Hurricanes. Nick was Drafted in the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft by the Minnesota Twins as an outfielder. The Minnesota Twins and Baseball America rated Nick the ” Fastest Runner” & “Most Athletic” of the Minnesota Twins 2009 Draft Class. All of Nick’s success he credits to his Yoga practice, to his family, to his coaches, and to his teachers that helped him along his way. In 2017, Nick received his 500 hour RYT Certificate from LongWave Yoga Studio in Wilmington, NC. He continues to study and practice yoga every day with full understanding that “we are all students of this life and we are all children of this universe, and at the end of the day we are all just a kid from somewhere. One Love. Cheers and Namaste!”
